In 2015, the $150 billion tour and activity industry relied heavily on outdated methods - manual bookings, endless phone calls, and complex spreadsheets. While established platforms like Viator and GetYourGuide dominated the market, new tech players were reshaping customer expectations. Our mission was clear: bridge the technology gap while addressing the diverse needs of operators working in varied settings, from busy city tours to remote adventure expeditions.

Through strategic design thinking and hands-on research, including direct operator shadowing and contextual analysis, we turned these obstacles into opportunities for breakthrough solutions.

The redesigned Booking Flow Widget drove a 20% increase in conversions, while the new Rentals Platform contributed 10% to revenue growth and earned a design patent. Additionally, our Point-of-Sale system reduced customer check-in times by 30%, significantly improving the on-site experience.

Akanksha joined Peek, shortly after finishing Graduate School. From the beginning, her interface design work shined as she was willing to think through interactions from multiple directions. She quickly grew to approach her design work by the practice of user research to define decisions based on customer input instead of assumptions. As such, she drove her growth into the role of a Senior Product Designer by single-handily leading UI/UX design of multiple critical products that made the Peek platform a success. Akanksha's projects expanded across Peek's entire B2B customer base, covering both desktop and mobile applications.
